They lose their function when mixed with liquids or when in contact with oxygen. In other words, such substances start to degrade as soon as they are on the production line. The same happens to some ingredients, such as aromas, which degrade after prolonged contact with water (STEEMAN, 2012). To avoid the loss of such compounds, there are a number of caps in development and others already on the market for this use. Two of these, from Tap-The-Cap (Picture 4.15) and Viz Cap (Picture 4.16) companies, keep the compound protected within a special compartment; upon putting pressure on the spout, the compartment opens, making the compound and the liquid to be mixed. In another development, from Teamplast, the cap frees a portion of vitamin powder to be mixed, allowing the instant preparation of the drink, which wins in freshness and healthiness (Picture 4.17).
