Summary
The Agriculture Research & Development Foundation makes public the opening of applications for a post-doctoral fellowship associated to the Center for Research Targeted to Problems in State of São Paulo (NPOP), Biotechnological Platform for Healthy Ingredients (PBIS) – supported by FAPESP in partnership with a consortium of industries and coordinated by the Institute of Food Technology (ITAL/SAA, Campinas-SP); aiming to modify a filamentous fungus strain for heterologous expression and secretion of sweet proteins.  In addition, the project will involve the optimization and scale-up of protein production.
The 24-month PD project will be developed under the FAPESP NPOP-PBIS project, at Synthetic and Molecular Biology Laboratory of Department of Biotechnology of Lorena School of Engineering from University of São Paulo (Lorena/SP) under the coordination of Prof. Fernando Segato.

1. Summary of position and experience required
The candidate must have a PhD degree with experience in biotechnology related (molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or correlated areas, preferably with experience in cloning, heterologous expression and biochemical characterization of enzymes).  The candidate must develop a project related to the proposed theme, assist in the guidance and co-orientation of students, collaborate with other NPOP-BIS (FAPESP) researchers in the development of other projects, assist in the writing and review of scientific papers of the research group and work on actions aimed at transferring technology and knowledge.

2. Requirements and skills required for the candidate:
- Have completed a doctorate, and obtained the title of doctor in the last 7 years;
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary research group;
- Knowledge of the English language for reading, scientific writing and conversation;
- Scientific production in indexed journals;
- Experience abroad is an advantage
Experience in:
- cloning, heterologous expression and biochemical characterization of enzymes.
